Learn more about the USCCA at https://www.usconcealedcarry.com/Position Summary:This position is based at our corporate headquarters in West Bend, Wisconsin and requires a minimum of 3 days per week in office.As a Senior Analytics Engineer at Delta Defense, you'll play a pivotal role in our cross-functional team, providing hands-on technical leadership. Your expertise will transform raw and operational data from diverse sources into robust, business-focused technology solutions. These solutions will empower the organization by enabling the reporting of KPIs, metrics, and insights. A key requirement for this role is proficiency with dbt technology, which will be essential in driving our data transformation processes. We're looking for candidates who are relentlessly resourceful, able to tackle complex requests swiftly, and committed to maintaining the highest standard of quality.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Lead the development of data pipelines that integrate complex and disparate data sources in order to create clean, tested, and reusable datasets ready for analysis.
  • Ensure data quality by creating, maintaining, and enhancing data profiling methodologies.
  • Contribute to the establishment of standards for performing data transformations. Ensure adherence of rules and requirements for formats and attributes of data.
  • Follow and validate the use of engineering best practices around CI/CD, unit testing, performance testing and optimization.
  • Effectively collaborate and partner with the Data Architecture team to ensure the quality and consistency of the data model.
  • Ensure clear and effective documentation.
  • Understand and apply best practices related to PII, adherence to risk policies and standards as set forth by the organization.
  • Design scalable and re-usable Enterprise Data Warehouse dimensional models.
  • Encourage and mentor junior team members. Leverage prowess in dbt technology to provide guidance in the development of others.Required Skills/Experience:
    • Bachelor's degree in IT or related field; Computer Science, Information Management, Data Science/Analytics, or equivalent relevant experience.
    • Proficiency in dbt required.
    • 4+ years of SQL experience.
    • Solid understanding of ETL/ELT methodologies.
    • Significant experience with cloud data warehouses (Snowflake, Redshift, BigQuery).
    • Experience with Python and shell scripting is a plus.
    • Experience with Agile development methods.
    • Understanding of Tableau.
    • Experience with AWS cloud technologies such as S3, EMR.
    • The ability to communicate ideas, information, and viewpoints clearly, both verbally and in writing.
    • Experience with Dimensional Data modeling (star schemas).
