Key Responsibilities: Facilitate accurate and effective communication between deaf or hard-of-hearing students, teachers, and staff using American Sign Language. Interpret spoken language and classroom content in real-time during classes, school events, and meetings. Collaborate closely with educational teams to support students academic and social success. Travel between school sites within the district as required to provide interpreter services. Maintain confidentiality and professional standards while adapting to various educational environments. Desired Qualifications and Experience: Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) with the ability to interpret fluently in diverse educational settings. Previous experience working as a sign language interpreter in schools or similar environments preferred. Strong understanding of Deaf culture and best practices in educational interpreting. Ability to manage travel and flexible scheduling demands. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
