Daily, as-needed basis. Salary: By the Period: $30 - Regular day
hours:7:45 am to 3:15 pm) Long-Term Daily Rate (After 20 days on
same assignment): $250.00 retroactive to the first day. FLSA

comprehensive public high school located in Oak Park, Ill., a
suburb eight miles due west of downtown Chicago. We are a
one-school district, with the majority of our students coming from
two sender districts, River Forest Public Schools District 90 and
Oak Park Elementary School District 97. We offer more than 200
courses, a variety of programs for students with special needs, 75
clubs and activities, and 29 competitive sports. We prepare our
students well for post-secondary success, with an average ACT
composite score of 24 and a 94% graduation rate. Oak Park and River

every day. Summary: Oak Park and River Forest High School is
looking for substitute teachers in various subject areas.
Substitutes report to the high school ready to perform the
functions as outlined by the teacher's lesson plan. Qualifications:
• Valid Substitute License or Professional Educator's
License(preferred) • Strong interpersonal skills. • Strong
organizational skills. • Flexibility to substitite for varios
subject areas • Availibility to work on a regular basis •
Subbing/classroom experience is preferred. All substitute teachers
must pass an Illinois State Police and FBI background check (at the
District’s expense) and must complete a physical exam (at the
employee’s expense within first 30 days of employment). Essential
Duties and Responsibilities Create and maintain a respectful and
fair classroom culture that fosters safe and productive learning.
Monitor, observe and report student behavior according to OPRFHS
policies and procedures Follow regular teacher’s lesson plans in a
way that ensures consistency and optimal learning, and that
encourages students to participate. Assign classwork and homework
as necessary, according to lesson plans Maintain a well-managed
classroom and positive learning environment May require traveling
to multiple classrooms based on assignment Taking accurate
