Job Description Job Description MEP Manager An established general contractor is seeking an experienced MEP Manager to lead all mechanical, electrical, and plumbing coordination across a diverse portfolio of commercial construction projects. This individual will play a critical role in aligning engineering requirements with field operations, ensuring systems are designed, procured, and installed in line with project goals, budgets, and timelines. The ideal candidate brings a blend of engineering expertise and general contracting experience, with strong communication skills and a proactive approach to problem-solving. To express interest or verify qualifications, please email the recruiter directly at michael.crabtree@cybercoders.com Key Responsibilities Serve as the primary point of contact between MEP subcontractors, internal project teams, design partners, and clients. Develop detailed scopes of work and responsibility matrices for all MEP packages. Review subcontractor proposals and change orders, verify accuracy, and support award recommendations. Lead value engineering efforts for MEP systems and help ownership teams make informed decisions that meet budget and functional needs. Identify long-lead materials and manage early procurement strategies to protect the project schedule. Participate in design coordination meetings from early stages through completion, and support project management and VDC teams with outstanding MEP issues. Track design constraints, coordinate resolutions, and maintain alignment between design progress and schedule requirements. Establish quality checkpoints to confirm compliance with project plans, specifications, and engineering standards. Provide regular cost updates and document changes tied to design or field conditions. Assist with phasing strategies, construction sequencing, and site logistics. Help resolve conflicts among MEP trades and promote collaborative solutions. Participate in testing, commissioning, and owner training for MEP systems. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, or equivalent technical education and construction experience. 2 years of commercial construction experience with strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems. Ability to read and interpret construction plans, schematics, and technical specifications. Experience working with or for a general contractor is strongly preferred. Strong communication and coordination skills across multiple teams.
