develop, support, administer and assist with the implementation of
TransUnion's global security risk management strategy and
associated security programs. This position will help shape the
growth and development an enterprise-wide program to safeguard the
company's critical assets - employees, facilities, operations, and
reputation - across the world.
This role will be the liaison between global corporate security,
regional management, and external organizations for support
protection of all assets.
An additional key component of the role requires an individual to
perform safety-sensitive job functions. This includes, but is not
limited to, the ability to develop global, regional and local
threat intelligence to assist in mitigation of events and
protection of executives and associates throughout the world, which
includes frequent domestic and international travel.
Experience conducting internal and external corporate
investigations, analyzing and clear report findings is a must. You
must also approach things strategically and have the business
acumen, project management experience and executive presence to
successfully build relationships and positively influence
others.
Strong collaboration skills, likely driven by experience working
with diverse teams, are required. A background in the public and/or
private sector with a solid network of resources will additionally
set you apart.
Finally, recent experience in building, operating and leading a
global operation center (GSOC) is a must have skill for this
essential role.What You'll Bring:
- 10 plus years of experience as a safety/security/law
enforcement leader in government, corporate, private, private or a
combination of both
- Military background in tactics, law enforcement and/or
intelligence programs
- Proven leadership experience in leading and managing small to
medium size teams
- A strong network of corporate and government security contacts
and intelligence resources. This includes local and federal law
enforcement intelligence community, including Federal Bureau of
Investigation, CIA, Homeland Security, Secret Service, State
Department Diplomatic Service, and joint terrorism task forces
- Advanced industry knowledge or professionally recognized
certifications in security management (trade orgs and/or
government-related institutional training)
- Specific leadership experience and expertise in crisis
management and other resilience business continuity programs
- Proven ability to engage effectively with senior, executive
leadership; able to build stakeholder relationships via strong
interpersonal skills
- Experience building diverse teams and demonstrated focus and
execution on enabling diversity in the workplace
- Demonstrated experience in executive protection, investigation,
guard force management, physical security, event security, threat
management, and global intelligence
- Complete event security reporting, including incident reports,
event security plans, event summaries, event flash reports and
other security related reporting
- Respond in a timely and effective manner to security incidents
and emergencies, including review and analyzation of footage
- Act as a liaison and coordinate and with other Threat
Management Division units on operational security requirements and
needs
- Prepare and present all relevant reporting and/or investigative
findings to Senior Leadership
- Provide first aid or rescue assistance in emergencies
- Eligibility for issuance of a U.S. Government security
clearance
- Ability to operate strategically, autonomously, but
collaboratively, in accordance with organizational goals and
priorities
- Experience with Global Security Operations Center (GSOC)
- Fiscal expertise in managing small to medium budgets
- Ability to write, edit and update security related
policies.
- Comply to duties as assigned by Vice President Global
Security.Fitness for Duty Requirements:
- Must be fit to perform duties that include sitting, standing,
walking, and patrolling for extended periods
- Ability to lift and carry objects weighing up to 50 pounds
- Ability to respond quickly and effectively in emergency
situations
- Must be alert and able to make sound decisions under
pressure
- Ability to handle stressful situations calmly and
professionally
- As this is a safety sensitive role, periodic evaluations may be
conducted post-employment to determine fitness for dutyTravel & In
Office Requirement:
- The ability to travel, within and outside of the United States,
up to 40%-50% of the time
- Must be based in Chicago and can go into office 5 days a
week
- Ability and willingness to work on weekends, holidays and late
nights is a must for this role.We'd love to see:
- Advanced training or certification in the safety and security
field, such as ASIS Certified Protection Professional (CPP),
Professional Certified Investigator (PCI), Certified Fraud Examiner
(CFE), or related security designation and BCP
- Prior experience collaborating with Facilities, Procurement,
Information Security, Human Resources, Business continuity and
Legal teams
- Armed Security Officer certification (ASO)
- Master's degree in a security, strategy, national security,
international affairs/relations or related field
- HR 218 certification or retired LEO qualifications
Impact You'll Make:
- Address problems and issues critical, life-safety and business
enablement imperatives across Europe, Middle East and Africa,
Asia-Pacific and multi-functional operations.
- Dedicate significant time to attract, develop and retain
talent, and to enable her/his senior leaders to build and implement
("in the field") institutional global, corporate security programs
such as crisis management, executive protection, risk assessment
methodology, travel and event security, learning and development,
safety & security governance and compliance, regional and global
risk-based program implementation, and more.
- Influence and promote a strategy to optimize and build out the
global security function in line with TransUnion's global
footprint, risk exposure, risk appetite, organizational
requirements, and business priorities as well as best practice,
industry standards and applicable regulations.
- Oversee the design and implementation of Security programs,
including uniformed security officers, investigations, threat
management, intelligence, training, case management, and
education/awareness programs
- Research innovative security systems and technology solutions
to design and oversee organization-wide coverage and
efficiency
- Develop and manages the capital and expense budget for the
organization's security operations and technologies.
- Ensure compliance with all legal, regulatory, and accreditation
standards.
- Develop and maintains strategic and close relationships with
municipal authorities, local public safety departments, high-level
law enforcement, and intelligence and private sector

position is $150,100.00 - $225,000.00 annually. *The salary range
for this position reflects a reasonable estimate of the range of
compensation for this job. At TransUnion, actual compensation is
based on careful consideration of additional factors such as (but
not limited to) an individual's education, training, work
experience, job-related skill set, location, and industry
knowledge, as well as the scope and responsibilities of the
position and market considerations. Regular, fulltime non-sales
positions may be eligible to participate in TransUnion's annual
bonus plan. Certain positions may be also eligible for long-term
incentives and other payments based on applicable company guidance
