Job Title: Surgical Technologist Profession: Surgical Tech Specialty: - Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 3rd Shift Hours per Shift: 10 hours Experience: - Minimum of two years of full-time equivalent experience as a Surgical Technologist. License: - High School Diploma or GED and completion of a Surgical Technologist Program or Military Training Program as an Operating Room Specialist or completion of an Apprentice II Program, or ten or more years of experience as a Surgical Tech. Certifications: - American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support for the Healthcare Provider (BLS) or an AHA approved equivalent. Must-Have: - Cardiac/Vascular transplant experience. Description: As a member of the healthcare team, the Surgical Technologist collaborates with the surgical team to provide care for patients. The position ensures that the goals of the patients are met and the mission of the organization is carried out. Other duties may be assigned as necessary. The Surgical Technologist performs procedures in a variety of specialties requiring extensive knowledge and skills. Demonstrates a higher level of collaboration with peers in making decisions related to surgical patient care.
