Respiratory Therapy Specialty: - Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 1st Day
Shift Hours per Shift: 12 hours (0600-1830) Experience: Minimum of
1 year of worked or educational clinical experience in both general
and critical care preferred License: Current State License as a
Respiratory Care Practitioner Certifications: - Registered
Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential from the National Board for
Respiratory Care (NBRC) - BLS - ACLS Must-Have: - Associate Degree
from a CoARC accredited Respiratory Care program Description: A
Respiratory Care Practitioner performs designated Respiratory Care
and Pulmonary diagnostic procedures in accordance with established
policies and procedures. This includes the treatment, management,
control, diagnostic evaluation, and care of patients with
cardiopulmonary deficiencies and abnormalities. Respiratory Care
services include therapeutic treatment and diagnostic testing with
the use of medical gases and equipment. Environmental control
systems, humidification, and aerosols are also part of the care.
Administration of medications to the cardiopulmonary system is a
key responsibility. Ventilatory support includes the maintenance
and management of life support systems. Bronchopulmonary clearance
and breathing exercises are part of the care activities. Patient
education and cardiopulmonary resuscitation skills are essential
components of the role. Maintenance of natural and artificial
airways is required. These procedures are performed in both
critical care and non-critical care areas on patients of all ages.
The Respiratory Care Practitioner is responsible for performing job
duties in alignment with the organization’s mission, vision, and
values. Additional duties may be assigned as necessary.
