Job Description Job Description Role Summary: Surgical Solutions
Technicians serve as an integral member of the endoscopy team
providing support services to surgeons and other hospital staff.
They are committed to superior customer service while actively
assisting in daily operations and procedures in their local
account. The position reports to Account Supervisors/Lead
Technicians. Duties & Responsibilities Models a high standard of
performance and service to hospital staff and peers. Endoscopy
Support Maintain endoscopic equipment and supply inventories;
perform safety checks May prepare endo suites per procedure
requirements Follow manufacturer instructions for cleaning, leak
testing, and high-level disinfection or sterilization of endoscopes
Equipment Maintenance and Repair Management Identify any damaged or
worn scopes or instrumentation (i.e. firmness, stiffness,
alignment, chips/dents, dullness, sharp edges) for repair or
replacement Troubleshoot malfunctioning scopes and equipment and
work with the repair vendor to arrange for loaner instrumentation
Maintain high standards for decontamination, inspection, assembly,
wrapping, and sterilization of surgical instruments. Maintain all
equipment and replace as needed, process repairs for instruments
and scopes Maintain current preference cards for surgeons, as
needed Maintain a professional level of service, behavior, and
communication with Surgical Solutions team members, hospital, and
OR staff Other Responsibilities Perform all other duties as
assigned by supervisors to support the efficient operation of the
team and hospital. Collaborate well with fellow team members and
hospital staff, act with respect and dignity towards others
Technology Utilization Learn and effectively use all technologies
as outlined in the company’s Technology Policy. If applicable,
utilize company phone and/or laptop to login to company systems as
required, including but not limited to ADP, Outlook, Concur, Slack,
and SCMP. Other Responsibilities Perform all other duties as
assigned by supervisors to support the efficient operation of the
team and hospital. Management and responsibility of company and
hospital property as assigned. Loss or damage of company property
may result in repayment fees. Skills & Abilities Demonstrate
reliability and consistent on-site attendance. Must be able to work
Sunday-Saturday, which includes 24/7 coverage on a rotational basis
during weekdays, weekends, and holidays. This position typically
entails a 40-hour workweek and additional hours may be required
based on workflow or schedule to ensure customers receive the
highest level of service. Strong professional communication skills,
both verbal and written, for interacting with customers, staff,
team members, and healthcare professionals. Ability to comprehend
technical materials, follow instructions, and provide client
education, interpretation, and documentation. Work effectively
under high-stress conditions, making critical decisions in
emergencies. Strong interpersonal skills to effectively engage with
individuals and groups from diverse social, emotional, cultural,
and intellectual backgrounds. Build rapport with clients and
colleagues while maintaining professionalism. Operate independently
and as part of a team, showing respect and consideration for
others. Adapt to a fast-paced hospital environment involving
exposure to bloodborne pathogens, chemical disinfectants, and
infectious materials. Physical Demands Ability to perform tasks
involving bending, squatting, kneeling, crawling, and maneuvering
heavy equipment. Stand for prolonged periods and lift/carry items
up to 50 pounds individually or more with assistance. Meet vision
and hearing standards, including color recognition, necessary for
job functions. Wear personal protective equipment (e.g., gloves,
gowns, eye protection) as required. Qualifications Education: High
school diploma/GED required. Some college preferred.
Certifications: Certified Registered Central Sterile Technician
(CRCST) or CBSPD required. CRCST is required within 120 days. CER
preferred Previous Experience: 2-5 years face-to-face customer
service experience; 6 months of Endoscopy experience preferred
Outstanding customer service skills, ability to build and maintain
strong rapport with hospital teams Must have excellent
communication and negotiation skills Ability to quickly and
accurately anticipate needs, and appropriately respond Availability
for 24/7 hospital coverage including weekdays, weekend, and holiday
rotational scheduled and on-call shifts
