ADEX Healthcare Staffing LLC is seeking a travel nurse RN PCU - Progressive Care Unit Med Surg for a travel nursing job in Wausau, Wisconsin. Job Description & Requirements - Specialty: PCU - Progressive Care Unit - Discipline: RN - Start Date: 04/13/2026 - Duration: 13 weeks - 36 hours per week - Shift: 12 hours, nights - Employment Type: Travel Opportunity: RN - IMC Job Details: • 13-week contract with 36 guaranteed hours per week • 12-hour variable shifts: 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM or 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM • Every other weekend and holiday required • Float to all inpatient units as needed, typically to higher acuity units • Subject to low census and on-call requirements with 2-hour minimum call back • Must be outside 50-mile radius of facility • Wisconsin RN license, BLS, and ACLS certification required • Minimum 2 years experience required with stepdown/intermediate/PCU experience mandatory • ICU experience preferred, Trauma Level II preferred • Ventilator/Trach experience required • At least 1 prior travel experience required • EPIC charting experience preferred • Any color scrubs permitted • Associate degree or certificate required, bachelor's degree preferred • Work on 36-bed Med Surg Intermediate Care unit with heavy telemetry • Patient ratio of 4:1 caring for stable weaning vents/trach, sepsis, trauma alcohol detox, GI bleed, colostomy/ileostomy, chest tubes, TBI, ortho trauma, spinal cord injury, and stroke patients • Fast-paced environment requiring independent work and timely task completion • Contract ends on Sunday rather than Saturday • During flu season, unvaccinated travelers must wear masks at all times per facility policy Facility: This healthcare facility operates a comprehensive intermediate care unit specializing in medical-surgical patients requiring close monitoring and advanced care.
