Job Description:
ThePress Operator is responsible for reviewing job ticket and
stage required plates, ink and stock, based on furnished job
specifications, mixing and color matching of ink may also be
required according to Quality System Procedures and Work
Instructions.

achieve them as scheduled.

Assists the company in achieving its goal of being the best
provider of printing services in the industry.
JOB DUTIES
Coordinate with 1st Pressman and set feeder pile and deliver pile
guides for proper stock size.
Coordinate with 1st Pressman and set back cylinders for proper
thickness as required for specified stock.
Coordinate with 1st Pressman to determine trapping sequence and
fill ink fountains accordingly.
Coordinate with 1st Pressman to determine color trapping sequence
and hang plates accordingly.
Assist with make ready registration procedures.
Maintain established checkpoints and procedures.
Replenish stock, ink and any other consumables associated with the
production of a job.
Deliver completed job to next operation.
Assist with preventative maintenance as required.
Assist in maintaining a clean, neat and orderly work area.
Perform press makeready and run operations in the absence of the
operator or as otherwise assigned
Performs other duties as required or assigned by supervisor.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
High School Education, GED or equivalent.
Some knowledge of press techniques used in offset printing to
produce finished printed materials preferred.
COMPUTER SKILLS
Basic computer skills; knowledge of keyboard functions.
MATH SKILLS
Basic skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and
division.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read, write and speak in the English language to the
extent necessary to effectively communicate or interpret
instruction.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out basic
written or oral instructions.
