Job Description:

The Ranger Group is a leading professional services firm providing solutions to Life Sciences customers. We are seeking a highly experienced Construction Manager to oversee capital expansion (CAPEX) projects for a pharmaceutical client in the Chicago IL Area. The ideal candidate will bring proven expertise in managing complex construction projects in regulated industries, with a strong understanding of FDA requirements and GMP environments. This is a 100% onsite position requiring daily coordination with trades, engineering teams, vendors, and client stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage all phases of facility construction for CAPEX projects.
• Oversee contractor performance, construction schedules, site logistics, safety compliance, and cost controls.
• Serve as the primary onsite liaison between project management, engineering, contractors, and plant operations.
• Coordinate equipment installation, utility upgrades, and facility modifications in alignment with regulatory and quality requirements.
• Ensure construction activities are executed in accordance with project plans, timelines, and budget constraints.
• Monitor progress and proactively resolve issues to minimize delays and risks.
• Support documentation and commissioning efforts in collaboration with validation and quality teams.
• Maintain strict adherence to FDA, cGMP, and other applicable regulatory requirements throughout construction activities.
  Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelors degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field.
  • 7+ years of experience managing construction projects in pharmaceutical, biotech, or medical device manufacturing facilities.
  • Strong knowledge of FDA regulations, cGMP standards, and cleanroom construction practices.
  • Proven experience overseeing trades, contractors, and equipment installation on capital projects.
