Description Summer Health & Wellness Coordinator Boys & Girls
Club of Portage County – Stevens Point, WI Perfect for college
students passionate about fitness, wellness, nutrition, or youth
development! No nights, no weekends. Summer hours 730am -530pm Make
a difference this summer by helping youth build healthy habits that
last a lifetime! The Boys & Girls Club of Portage County is looking
for an energetic, positive, and motivated Summer Health & Wellness
Coordinator to inspire our members through fun, hands?on wellness
programs. If you love helping kids grow, enjoy gardening, fitness,
cooking, or wellness activities, and want a meaningful summer
job—you’ll thrive in this role. What You’ll Do As our Health &
Wellness Coordinator, you will: Program Leadership Plan, organize,
and implement health & wellness activities for youth Encourage
youth participation and promote active engagement Serve as a
positive role model and mentor Create a safe, supportive, and
welcoming environment Work independently and collaboratively with
team members Program Management Support behavior guidance and
enforce expectations respectfully Implement program goals,
standards, policies, and procedures Evaluate program success and
adjust activities based on youth needs Train and guide volunteers
with ongoing feedback Maintain and secure all program materials,
tools, and supplies Keep program spaces clean, organized, and fully
stocked Submit biweekly schedules of planned activities Communicate
supply needs at least one week in advance Read and respond to email
promptly Support the flow of daily Club operations as needed Core
Health & Wellness Responsibilities Clean and put away all program
tools and materials after activities Maintain the Club garden
throughout the season Track harvest and garden growth Lead or
support national Boys & Girls Club wellness programs, including:
Healthy Habits SMART Moves Green Thumb (And additional
Club?recognized health initiatives) Additional Responsibilities
Purchase supplies with supervisor approval Support special events
and Club?wide activities Use approved discipline and guidance
strategies May drive the Club van if needed (training provided)
Assist with youth recruitment through schools, events, and outreach
Support recruitment efforts for special programs Maintain
flexibility as seasonal needs and schedules shift Qualifications ?
Qualifications High school diploma or GED Degree or currently
pursuing a degree in an arts?related or wellness?related field
(education, health, nutrition, recreation, psychology, etc.)
Experience working with children Knowledge of youth development
strategies Ability to motivate youth and support positive behavior
Comfortable interacting with the general public Ability to plan and
implement engaging programs for youth Able to organize and
supervise members safely Ability to work effectively with youth and
families from diverse backgrounds ??? Physical Requirements & Work
Environment Able to function in fast?paced, active, and sometimes
noisy environments May require standing, moving, or being on your
feet for long periods Ability to hear and understand speech at
normal levels Ability to speak clearly and audibly to communicate
instructions Physical ability to push, pull, lift, or carry up to
50 pounds
